Raspberry Ice Cream

As promised, here is my recipe for raspberry ice cream.  Just a small pointer; when you dissolve the sugar in the cream. . . do it by hand.  The first year I made this, I used my electric mixer.  Between the agitation of the mixer and then the agitation of the electric ice cream maker. . . well, I had lumps of butter in my ice cream!

  • 4 cups half & half or light cream
  • 2 cups whipping cream
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 tbsp. vanilla
  • 2 cups, blended, raspberries or any other fruit you would like

Gently mix first 4 ingredients.  Once the sugar is dissolved, stir in fruit.  Transfer to ice cream maker and follow manufacturers instructions.
